Tip: Designing for fabrication

I can and will say, none of our previous cut tube orders was as trouble free as our first order with Four Slide Products.

Hypodermic Stainless Steel Tubing Chart
Hypodermic Stainless Steel Tubing Chart

Our hypodermic stainless steel tubing chart lists multiple wall dimensions – regular (RW), thin wall (TW), and extra thin wall (XT) – for welded and drawn, 304- and 316-grade stainless steel tubing in gauges 3 to 29. Although hard temper is standard, intermediate tempers and full annealing are also available.

Stainless steel tubing dimensions are generally specified fractionally or by gauge. Hypo Tubing or Hypodermic tubing dimensions are specified by gauge. Gauge size is determined by the OD (outside diameter) and the ID (inside diameter). Four Slide Products offers a wide range of tube gauges and we regularly cut and form from 24 gauge and larger. If you do not find the gauge you are looking for, please call us to discuss your requirements.

Stainless Steel Tubing Chart
XX Thin wall/Heavy wall and Half Gauge

This stainless steel tubing chart provides a handy reference for extra thin (XX) and heavy (H) wall dimensions of hard tempered, 304- and 316-grade stainless steel tubing in standard gauges 7 to 25 and half-gauges 3.5 to 25.5. OD and ID ranges are specified for your convenience.

304-grade stainless steel tubing is a commonly used alloy. It is highly resistant to corrosion and oxidation and is easily formed and welded. 304-grade stainless steel is composed of a minimum of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, with a maximum of 0.08% carbon.

The alternative to 304-grade stainless steel is 316-grade, which we also use to make custom fabricated tubular parts. 316-grade stainless steel contains molybdenum and is substantially more resistant to corrosion than 304-grade stainless steel. In all other machining properties 304- and 316-grade stainless steel are identical.

Fractional and Metric Tube Sizes
Fractional and Metric Tube Sizes

Would you prefer a tubing chart that lists fractional and metric sizes? Our Fractional and Metric Tube Sizes chart provides fractional and metric OD dimensions for a variety of wall thicknesses (from .020″ to 0.035″). This easy to use reference also provides millimeter (mm) dimensions for your convenience.
